CADEF, a CS-SUNN member, joined a 3-day workshop addressing maternal and child health challenges, emphasizing Multiple Micronutrient Supplements (MMS) for improved outcomes, held November 27-29, 2024.
The workshop aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of Nigeria’s nutrition landscape, introduce tracking metrics for MMS programs, and explore innovative methods of data collection and advocacy. Key highlights included:
- Understanding the Nutrition Landscape: Discussions on MMS as a critical intervention for addressing micronutrient deficiencies in Nigeria.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Participants were trained in the use of tools like Kobo Collect for efficient data collection and management.
- Data-Driven Advocacy: The workshop emphasized leveraging data to inform policies and advocate for increased resources.
- Building Partnerships: Collaboration among government, NGOs, and community organizations was identified as vital for improving MMS program outcomes.
This workshop reinforced the need for evidence-based strategies and collaborative efforts to combat malnutrition, ensuring improved maternal and child health outcomes in Nigeria.
