January 19, 2026Building Skills for Tomorrow: CADEF Partners with YAPPI Nigeria to Support Young Creatives
January 19, 2026On the 13th of November, young innovators, founders, and changemakers tuned in from across Nigeria and Africa for the greenlabs Powering Food Systems X Space, a conversation designed to give clarity, direction, and a real inside look at what it takes to build solutions that matter within Nigeria and Africa’s evolving food and energy landscape.
The session, themed “Powering Food System: Scaling Innovation for the Food–Energy Nexus,” brought together two remarkable innovators from the greenlabs Cohort 1 Incubation program, Loveth Walker, co-founder of Grevego, a green-tech ecosystem promoting sustainable and healthy living through a bridge-to-core growth model, and Oreoluwa Fawole, co-founder of Agroflow, a solar-powered, IoT-enabled smart irrigation system, enabling smallholder farmers to improve yields while conserving water.
Loveth Walker highlighted the many opportunities within Nigeria’s food and energy sectors, noting that programs like the greenlabs Incubation Program are designed to help young innovators identify real problems, validate their ideas with communities, and scale solutions that create measurable impact. She emphasized that while opportunities exist, young innovators must be proactive, intentional, and ready to do the hard work of turning ideas into impact. From Agroflow, Oreoluwa Fawole delivered a message that resonated deeply across the space. He highlighted that “Your idea is valid. You just need to validate it. And one question you must ask yourself is, who are you building for?”
A total of 129 listeners joined the conversation, engaging with stories, challenges, and lessons from founders who have walked the path. Their insights demystified the food–energy nexus, highlighting emerging opportunities in energy-efficient cold storage, sustainable nutrition, precision agriculture, and intelligent farming systems.
As greenlabs continues opening pathways for youth-led innovation in climate-smart agriculture, clean energy, and circular food systems, we remain committed to backing ideas that can solve real problems, uplift communities, and reshape the future.
Stay tuned for more updates on CADEF’s impact on sustainability and the green economy.
