The GreenLabs renewable energy Innovation Challenge began with 3 weeks of innovation challenges where the participants competed by bringing various unique ideas, after the pitch day out of the 36 projects that participated only 12 proceeded to the next stage called the discovery phase, which is the first stage of a 9-month incubation program designed to nurture innovative ideas into sustainable ventures. Over five weeks, participants immersed themselves in entrepreneurship, laying a solid foundation for their projects, of the 12 projects and 24 individuals who initially qualified during Demo Day, 8 projects and 13 individuals registered for this phase.

Highlights of the Discovery Phase Activities

Throughout the five weeks, participants engaged in mentorship sessions submitted assignments, and collaborated with facilitators to refine their ideas. Here’s an overview of the activities and milestones:

  • Attendance and Engagement:
    Facilitator sessions were conducted every Friday, offering tailored guidance and specialized lectures to address the unique challenges of each project. These sessions were designed to provide participants with the best possible support to refine and advance their solutions.
  • Deliverables:
    Participants were assigned tasks and deliverables with clearly defined deadlines to ensure steady progress throughout the program. Meeting these deadlines was key to maintaining momentum and accountability.

Outcome and Next Steps

The Discovery Phase concluded with 6 projects and 12 individuals successfully advancing to the Bootcamp Phase, the next step in their journey. This milestone demonstrates their commitment to transforming innovative ideas into impactful, sustainable solutions.
