Unlocking the Power of Solar: Efficiency, Storage, and Consumer Awareness
The transition to renewable energy is growing rapidly, but how well do consumers understand the efficiency and storage of solar energy? On February 27, 2025, CADEF hosted a groundbreaking webinar, “Understanding Solar Panel Efficiency and Battery Storage: What Every Consumer Should Know,” to equip consumers with the knowledge to make informed decisions about solar technology. This session explored both technical and policy aspects to enhance consumer awareness and adoption of solar energy systems.
Expert-Led Discussions
Two distinguished speakers shared valuable insights:
Dr. Segun Adaju, a renewable energy expert and policy strategist, spoke on “Identifying Policy Gaps and Standardization in Nigeria’s Renewable Energy Sector.” He emphasized the need for clear implementation frameworks, stronger regulatory enforcement, and incentives such as tax breaks and feed-in tariffs to attract investment.
Engr. Chinedu Okwaraoka, an electrical engineer specializing in solar technology, presented “Demystifying Solar Panel and Battery Labels.” He explained how to interpret efficiency ratings, troubleshoot common solar system issues, and ensure proper system sizing for optimal performance.
