October 16, 2025greenlabs: Nurturing Bold Ideas for a Sustainable Future
Over the past nine months, Consumer Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation (CADEF), in partnership with Jacob’s Ladder Africa, has groomed young innovators through the greenlabs Incubation Program, an incubation initiative designed to transform bold ideas into practical solutions for Nigeria’s green economy.
The greenlabs Incubation Program has provided mentorship, training, and access to networks for young, early-stage innovators who are developing sustainable, scalable solutions that address pressing environmental, social, and economic challenges in Nigeria. The program reflects CADEF’s vision of empowering young Nigerians to not only imagine change but also to build it.
As part of its public engagement, participants from the greenlabs Renewable Energy Cohort recently featured on Rhythm FM, one of Nigeria’s leading radio networks. Hosted by Kayode Baker, a seasoned broadcaster and talk show host, the session gave a platform to participants and facilitators to share their experiences, highlight their innovations, and reflect on their journeys.

Among the voices were Oreoluwa Fawole and Senami Anko, co-founders of AgroFlow, a solar-powered, lease-to-own irrigation system that uses IoT technology to replace costly and environmentally harmful petrol pumps. They spoke about how greenlabs helped them refine their business model, gain confidence as innovators, and see their solution as one that can truly empower farmers and communities.
One of the Program Facilitators, Somtochukwu Nsofor, also reflected on the growth she has witnessed among participants. She described the program as “more than a training.” The greenlabs Incubation Program is an incubator for bold ideas that tackle Nigeria’s sustainability challenges, because with the right support, young Nigerians are capable of driving real change in the green economy.
