Consumer Advocacy and Empowerment Foundation (CADEF) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the empowerment, protection, emancipation and enlightenment of consumers in Nigeria. Our pursuit is to increase awareness and defend consumer rights, through rigorous research and policy analysis on key consumer issues, advocacy, education and legal representation. Our mission here at CADEF transcends mere advocacy; it embodies a holistic approach, nurturing a community where consumers are not just protected but empowered with knowledge through an array of educational programs, workshops, and outreach initiatives.
Our advocacy is not a mere defender; it’s a dynamic force, aimed at shaping policies, instigating seismic shifts, and sculpting a business landscape that radiates positive change for the boundless benefit of consumers in Nigeria and also globally. But that’s not all—we are also strong on consumer empowerment. Our passion extends to promoting entrepreneurship, with a keen focus on empowering women and youths. We don’t just give them a voice; we amplify it, ensuring they resonate powerfully in the corridors of business influence.
What We Do
Advocacy
CADEF seeks to ensure that consumers, particularly those who are most vulnerable in Society, are able to defend and safeguard their rights and have their voices heard on issues that concern them.
Consumer Protection
CADEF seeks to reduce the proliferation of sub-standard goods and services and its effects on consumers. To partner with stakeholders to provide information, resources, testing and demand for compensation.
Empowerment
We believe in empowering individuals and groups to increase their autonomy and selfdetermination economically and socially. This requires providing information and innovative practices that promote participation and accountability amongst consumers
